This unusually marked female
Stonechat has been present along the coast path opposite Howick Village for 6 weeks now. It is showing a very distinctive white throat which is really an 'albino' patch of feathers. Many species can exhibit aberrant plumages, but this is the first time I have seen a Stonechat do so...
That is one crazy looking Stonechat, bet whoever found it was completely confused to start with.
ReplyDeleteHi Ashley, Well apart from its ultra white throat it is just a bog standard Stonechat really. It goes on a list of many species Ive seen that have shown some abberant plumages.

Hi Stewart we were walking on the coastal path today and saw the white-throated Stonechat, it is quite a stunning looking bird
